Fernando joined the French side in 2005, following spells at Siena and Catania.
Fernando’s current contract expires in 2011.
“At a certain time I will need to leave,” he told Aujourd’hui Sport.
“In June I will finish my fourth season with Bordeaux, so that could be the right moment.
“I had talks with the chairman (Jean-Louis Triaud) and the coach (Laurent Blanc) last summer and they asked me to stay.
“But they gave me their word that if a good offer is made in the summer they will let me leave. So that is a verbal agreement for a June departure.
“I am not sure whether I will stay or go. It depends on the proposals I receive.
“It is true that Italy would be my preferred choice. But I don’t want to choose yet because I may stay in France.”
