The Viola moved away from the drop-zone following their win over Cagliari.
“There is still work to do,” Mihajlovic told SkySport.
“The boys did well today to keep plugging away right until the death.
“We finished the game with two primavera players out there and I am delighted for the boys following an important win.
“When I start to recoup some players I am confident this team can push on and get back into the chasing pack.
“I am very happy for [Adrian] Mutu who found the net this afternoon as the boy is lacking moral and it will do him good.
“We are creating numerous chances in front of goal but we must improve in sticking them away. Against Juventus and Milan we suffered a similar issue in front of goal and this has often cost us at the final whistle.”
