Fiorentina defender Gamberini: I’ll be back

Reports have suggested the 27 year old defender coulod miss as many as seven games for Fiorentina.

“Doctor Enrico Castellacci tried to push the shoulder back in when we got to the dressing room, but it was too far out so we had to go to hospital,” Gamberini said.

“Things were complicated in the hospital because we had trouble communicating with the doctors and they wanted to perform additional tests that made things take longer.

“But then Castellacci gave me the anaesthetic and everything was put in its right place.

“I’m hoping to return to action in 20 or so days, but unfortunately it won’t be easy.

“I’m going back to Florence to begin the rehabilitation process with the Viola medical team but there is still a lot to think about because I have been told that this kind of problem can recur.

“It’s a real shame that I have had this problem during such a crucial time for Fiorentina and Italy but I will be back soon stronger than ever.”
