The Gigliati said in an official statement: “Fiorentina are dismayed and disappointed for the violent and uncalled for behaviour of Palermo’s Coach Francesco Guidolin, who had no respect and was highly offensive.
“His behaviour, as well as his recent statements, reveal his personal resentment towards Fiorentina, which we do not understand, as this club has great respect for Palermo and their supporters.
“We are outraged and believe that Guidolin’s violent behaviour set a poor example, mainly for the younger fans.
“We also think that the only way to return dignity to Sunday’s match is for Guidolin to apologise to the supporters and the people he insulted, without bearing any grudge.”
