The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Italian side and joins the club for around €2.5million.
“I always wanted to play in Europe and to belong to a club with great tradition like Fiorentina,” he said in Corriere dello Sport.
“It is a great honour and I almost can’t believe it. I am going to play for the same team as (Carlos) Dunga and (Gabriel) Batistuta.
“I have been hoping this would come about ever since I heard of Fiorentina’s interest a few months ago.
“I cannot wait to arrive and I cannot wait to begin in Serie A.
“I knew that sooner or later a move would come and the fact that it is to the Viola makes me very proud.
“I am sorry to be leaving Atletico Paranaense in a difficult position, but I am convinced my team-mates can cope without me.”
