The 28-year-old will join the Viola on loan until the end of the season, subject to FA and league clearance approvals.
Benalouane joined Leicester City from Italian side Atalanta in the summer, but has failed to make the expected impact at the club.
The defender has made nine appearances for Leicester City this season.
