Hull boss Phil Brown has been working to strengthen his options up front this summer, after struggling for goals last season.
“The manager was always going to strengthen his attacking options but I’ll be working hard in pre-season to put myself in his plans” Folan told the Hull Daily Mail.
“I’m very happy here, I’ve got another three years left on my contract and I still enjoy it.
“The response in pre-season has been positive from all the coaches and there still seems quite a bit of belief in me.
“I met with the manager and it was a positive get-together, but football can be a funny game so you never know.”
He added: “Obviously I didn’t feature as much as I wanted to last year and I don’t want another season like last year.
“I want to crack on this time around and show what I’m really about and do the best I can.
“I had several conversations with the manager throughout the season but all I can do is to keep trying to let them know I’m still here.
“It’s up to me to show I’m as good as anyone at the club.”
