Former Arsenal star pledges future to Barcelona

The 25-year-old midfielder has recently admitted that he is disappointed not to be a regular in the Arsenal first-team this season.

“I came here to have a long career,” Fabregas told Diari ARA.

“People ask a lot from me because I cost a lot. I won’t give up, I want to retire at Barca.

“I knew I came here to compete with the best in the world. I will work hard to make things difficult for the coach.”

Fabregas also commented on the loss of atmosphere after his former club Arsenal left Highbury for the Emirates during his time at the club.

“Camp Nou is a beast of a stadium,” he continued. “I wouldn’t want the same thing to happen as with Arsenal. The Emirates is not Highbury.

“Highbury was very tiny, but it had its charm. Emirates is a great stadium, modern, but it’s not Highbury.”
