The 35-year-old joins Metz on a free transfer after being released by Marseille in the summer.
Metz president Bernard Serin told the club’s official website: “The arrival of Sylvain to our squad is the culmination of several days of discussions.
“We have put much energy into these discussions and have made significant efforts. I’m very glad it is concluded in this way.”
