Sanchez has spent nearly £20million on new players so far this summer.
He said: “Reading and Blackburn have shown smaller clubs can compete with the best and that’s what we want.
“People don’t tend to expect much from this club, and it is my job to raise expectations. We don’t want Fulham just to be a nice place to go.
“The chairman has shown his commitment with the money he’s given us for new signings and I’d still like to bring in one or two more.
“That said, he will now be wanting some delivery on it and that brings a different kind of pressure.”
