He told TPS: “I was a promising player with Monaco. I was very ambitious because people believed a lot in me.
“When a club like Barca ask you to join them, you can’t refuse. It has been a great experience to play alongside such stars.
“After a difficult season in Spain, I wanted to come back to France in order to play in Euro 2004. That is why I chose to join Marseille. But it was a catastrophe there. I didn’t play.
“With Fulham, Chris Coleman offered me the opportunity to come back to my best form.
“I needed time to be totally fit and to adapt and that is what he gave me.
“He is the perfect coach for me. He understands me. I could not have dreamed of a better one.”
