Galatasaray president Unal Aysal admits he is keen to sign the 31-year-old, but will leave a decision in coach Fatih Terim’s hands.
Berbatov has long been linked with a move away from United after starting just five Premier League games for the club last season.
“The Bulgarian is a great forward,” Aysal is quoted as saying on gol.bg.
“I want him to join us but, of course, coach Fatih Terim has the final word.”
