Garde was Wenger’s first signing at Arsenal and played briefly for the club under him, and is now the Lyon coach.
“Of course I still think that he is a great manager”, Garde told L’Equipe.
“When you consider the number of years he has spent leading the club with which he has come such a long way.
“He has been criticised for not winning trophies, but compared to what he brought to the club, there must be a little more respect for his work.”
