Gasperini signs new Genoa deal

Genoa have impressed in the Serie A this season and have secured a place in next season’s UEFA Cup.

“Gian Piero has renewed his contract with us – that is now official,” Preziosi told Tuttomercatoweb.

“He has signed a three-year deal with us, which will expire in 2012 after lengthy talks over the future.

“Gasperini’s future here has never been in doubt and I even said after the game on Sunday that he would be staying.”

Gasperini has previously been linked with the available coaching job at Juventus, following their sacking of Claudio Ranieri.
