Gerrard told Liverpoolfc.tv: “I’ve been working hard in training to get my form back, it’s not altogether there yet but it’s getting better.
“It goes without saying that I like to play in the middle. It’s my favourite position and it’s where I like to play.
“But I’ve got to do a job for the team and if the manager wants me to play elsewhere I will do the best I can.
“I was a bit disappointed we didn’t keep the ball better in the second half but the plus is we are top of the group. Although that doesn’t automatically mean we’ll get a weaker team. But being at home in the second game is a definite advantage.”
