The Belgian announced he would leave the French side this season and the Arsenal winger who also left them last season backed his former team mate.
“He’s a young player with tremendous qualities”, Gervinho told La Voix de Sport.
“If he thinks it is time to leave, he must have thought it through.
“He has the qualities to succeed abroad. All the major players want to break through to the top level.
“He has learned a lot from Lille, he will grow a lot abroad.”
