Gomes joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven for £7.8million in the summer, but has made a poor start to the season.
The 27-year-old said: “I’m a very cool guy and I’m sure I will win the affection of the supporters at Tottenham, just as I did at PSV.
“The criticism doesn’t really bother me. I know my game, I’m confident in my game and I just want to keep playing well and prove to everyone that I am a top goalkeeper.
“When you are in a big team, that is full of confidence and winning, you don’t have much work and life is easy.
“But when you are constantly being challenged to make saves and asked to be busy things are different. If I have to make more saves and I have to constantly come out of the nets, I’m also more exposed and prone to mistakes. But I’m used to that.
“As a goalkeeper, people usually remember what you did wrong, like the incident with Corluka.”
