The 22-year-old’s new deal will keep the midfielder at Lyon until the summer of 2016.
“Olympique Lyonnais are delighted to announce the extension of Maime Gonalons’ contract until June 30, 2016,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
Gonalons has impressed for Lyon in the defensive midfield position this season.
“This contract makes me very proud,” he told L’Equipe.fr.
“I have been educated here and I have been at the club for 11 years. That shows that the club trusts me and values me.”
