The new deal will keep the 24-year-old keeper at Valencia until the summer of 2015.
“Competition for the goalkeeping spot with VCF is a good thing,” Guaita told Valencia’s official website. “I don’t want things to be made easy for me. Competition allows me to improve myself and is good for the team.
“I can’t see myself ever leaving Valencia CF and I was clear about wanting to stay. I was loaned out for a year and didn’t want to leave here. I am the same as ever and I will not change.”
Valencia president Manuel Llorente added: “It is very important for us to have a top player who has come up from the academy.
“Vicente Guaita has been able to become Valencia CF’s first choice goalkeeper. I hope that Vicente continues his progression and that nobody is able to take his place.”
