“Stefano’s contract expires in June 2009 and several Serie A clubs are interested in his services,” the player’s agent Claudio De Nicola admitted to Romanews.eu.
“But Roma are his first choice and joining the Giallorossi would be a dream come true for him. He was close to Fiorentina this summer, but Ascoli turned down a €3.5 million bid, and Palermo, Lazio, Torino and Atalanta have been also tracking him.
“He is keen on a top side, and the Giallorossi clearly fall under that category.”
