The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool after impressing for Germany at the World Cup.
“The interest in him is a credit to Marcell,” Gerd vom Bruch told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.
“But he is under contract with Hamburger SV and will be respecting this.”
