Crew decided to sign Harrison just days after goalkeeper William Hesmer sustained a shoulder injury.
Hesmer will miss the 2010 postseason with a fractured glenoid in his right shoulder.
Harrison will be backup to Andy Gruenebaum, who is set to start in goal against Colorado Rapid on Thursday.
