The 24-year-old was part of Nigeria’s squad for the 2010 World Cup.
“The long injury lay-off will definitely be a heavy burden on Chinedu. I’m remaining optimistic, though, that the intensive treatment he is receiving will keep his shin problems under control,” said Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick on the club’s official website.
“He will receive all the support he needs from us to enable him to come out of this situation 100% fit, strong and healthy.”
