Houllier has been linked with the Black Cats job since Roy Keane’s resignation last week.
Houllier, who is current technical director of the French Football Federation, admits that he has not been contacted by Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn.
“No, I’m not interested,” Houllier told Canal Plus, “and I haven’t been contacted directly.”
