The former Derby player missed the weekend victory over Blackburn with the win, but scans have shown that he needs surgery to fix the complaint.
The club said in a statement that “Tom Huddlestone will undergo surgery on his right ankle. The procedure is likely to rule the England international out of action for around three months.”
