Huseklepp joined Pompey in a £1.9million deal last summer, but has recently been strongly linked with a return to Norway.
But Huseklepp insists he is enjoying his time at Portsmouth and will not be pushing for a summer switch.
He told The News: “I don’t regret coming to Portsmouth. You could never see what has happened coming.
“I had a good six months and then had to go because of the financial side of things. But I really enjoyed my time at the club. It’s sad. It’s a great club with fantastic fans.
“Unfortunately things happened and it was sad to see. As things stand, I still plan to enjoy my time here because I will be back for next season.
“I’m still under contract. It says two more years, so I have to stick to that unless something else happens. You never know but I’m sticking to my contract as things stand.”
He added: “What I’ve learnt is things can change quickly in football. That’s the most important thing I’ve picked up from being here. We were on a positive run and then administration happened. It ruined the season.
“We could have had a very good second half of the season otherwise. The fans are fantastic and have always been good to me, though. It’s important to me that they know I appreciate that.
“It was always fun to play at Fratton Park and when we played away from home the fans will always show up in numbers.
“They don’t deserve what has happened. The fans deserve to have stability around them.”
