Iaquinta scored two goals after assists by Giovinco.
He said: “BATE had a very strong start and we struggled to keep hold of the ball. We did well to make the most of the chances we created.
“Giovinco is proving he is an immense talent and he should continue like this, he’s a great help for us strikers.”
Iaquinta was not supposed to start the match, but was picked when Amauri was forced out of the game with a flu virus.
He said: “It’s important to always remain concentrated, whether I’m playing 10 minutes or 90 minutes. It’s all psychological.
“I am happy to have scored two goals, which I hadn’t managed in Serie A, although in the second half we could’ve won it.
“We go home with a point and will start to focus on the next game with Palermo.”
