Cambiasso, who has been a key player for Inter in recent seasons, will miss the start of the new season.
“The results of tests showed Esteban Cambiasso suffered an injury to the lateral meniscus of the right leg,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Inter’s medical staff will perform an arthroscopic operation, which will be scheduled in the next few days.”
