Inter boss Mourinho happy with draw

This was Inter’s second straight goalless draw.

“First of all I wish to compliment Udinese and Napoli,” said Mourinho. “This was a difficult game in Florence, where both sides didn’t run too many risks.

“They were very closed down in midfield and we tried to be more balanced, creating three great chances, but then they also had a good opportunity.

“It was a real and difficult match. It’s not easy to come here and win, especially right now with such a packed fixture list, but both teams fought hard and I cannot complain.”

“If there is a trophy for the autumn then we have lost it, but we’ve still got a great chance for the one in May,” he smirked.

“I am not a magician, but I have faith in my squad and our work. Statistics are meaningless, as in these two games Inter may not have won, but they did not lose either against two very organised sides like Fiorentina and Genoa.

“Tonight my players did not put in a great performance, but they fought hard and gave their all.”
