Rivas snapped the collateral ligament in his right knee during the 2-1 win over Bologna last night.
“Despite it being a major injury, we are now more relaxed as it is less serious than we originally feared when confronted with the dynamics of the incident and the pain he was in,” said Professor Franco Combi on the official Inter website.
“Now we have to decide whether to proceed with surgery or through a more conservative form of therapy.
“At least we are more reassured because there is no damage to the cruciate ligament, nor is there a fracture to the tibia.”
