Benitez took over as coach at Inter Milan earlier this summer, following Jose Mourinho’s move to Real madrid.
“Day after day we are trying to improve and get into shape,” said Zanetti in his Press conference.
“There is a new Coach who is trying to transmit his credo and mentality to the squad.
“Clearly it’ll take some time to assimilate it all, but I believe right from this season we’ll see Inter at the forefront.
“We will know how to add something more to the quality we already have. There is no feeling that we need to make comparisons with last term.”
