Inverness boss rues SPL decision

The SPL decided on Wednesday to postpone the top-flight fixtures for this weekend, due to the severe weather conditions in Scotland.

Butcher said: ” I’m very disappointed. We have put a lot of work into our pitch in the last couple of days and I wonder if the SPL are willing to pay our heating bill.

“Our pitch would have been absolutely perfect on Saturday. We travelled to Celtic Park last weekend in worse conditions than supporters will have to travel in to our game.

“The A9 is fine and the forecast is positive. There’s no reason the game should have been called off.

“If we’d known the SPL were thinking about this and there was a chance the game could go off we wouldn’t have put our heating on. Sums such as £5,000 to £6,000 are a lot of money to our club.”
