The 29-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season and both Portsmouth and Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder.
“The contract talks are not going at the moment,” said Norris.
“I had an initial offer two months ago, but it wasn’t quite right for me.
“I was hoping for three years, but it was only two years, and I haven’t heard one thing since.
“I’m settled here and I’ve never said that I want to leave. I haven’t signed anything with anyone else, when I possibly could have.
“It’s just a bit frustrating because I don’t know 100% where I stand. Do they want me to stay and sort a deal out? Or do they want me to stay until the end of the season and then I go?
“I’m in a strong position, but sometimes the grass isn’t always greener.”
