Scotland is keen on a return to Swansea after failing to get regular first-team football at Ipswich.
He said: “I went to Ipswich to play football and I’m not doing that. I am at that point in my career when I need to be playing, not sitting on the bench.
“The new manager has come in and I have not had a chance, but I feel I have a lot to contribute.
“I had a word with him and he is happy to let me go.
“If Swansea are interested in me it would be great. I enjoyed my best time of my career there and it would be an easy decision for me.
“I’m not interested in going to any other club. It’s up to Swansea now to speak to Ipswich and make something happen.”
