Jans, who has been in charge at the club since 2002, will not renew his contract at the end of the season as he is keen on a new challenge.
General manager Hans Nijland admitted the club were sad to hear their coach wants to leave.
“We had the intention to go further with him,” said Nijland.
“We have had a good successful period with Jans.
“For us he is more than only a coach, he has become a club icon. After eight years this will end.
“We hope and expect to end the season in a successful way, which is what Ron Jans deserves.”
