Sevilla lost 2-0 at the Mestalla on Sunday in their first game of the season.
“I’m upset by the defeat. It wasn’t part of the plan, but we didn’t win because we didn’t do anything to deserve to win,” Jimenez told AS.
“The players are angry, it was a bad display. A couple of players were at the right level, but we did nothing productive.
“It doesn’t matter that it was against Valencia. The league isn’t won or lost in the first game. I’ll remain calm because I know that isn’t the way we play.”
“It seems the critics have been around since I began as a coach, but it’s part of the job,” added Jimenez.
“We will fight, we all want the best for Sevilla. We will look to give the fans a win against Zaragoza.”
