Jiranek joined Birmingham from Spartak Moscow last summer, but in January the 31-year-old hinted he would be keen on a return to Russia.
But Jiranek has since then become a regular at St Andrews and started the Carling Cup final victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
“The most important thing is that I have made the best of the chance I was given, even though I expected it to come much earlier as I had arrived here with the intention of playing regularly, not to just sit on the bench,” Jiranek told CTK.
He added on a possible return to Russia: “It’s gone now, it’s not too realistic.
“Moreover, at Birmingham they have told me that they don’t at all want to release me.
“We’ll see what happens after the season.”
