The Brazilian played for Vasco for 6 years previously, and while playing in Qatar hinted he would move back to Lyon, where he played before joining Al-Gharafa.
However Vasco president Roberto Dinamite has said Juninho will join his club in the summer, stating:
“Juninho wants to end his career with Vasco and to continue his career for longer. Everything will be signed in the coming months but he is coming to Vasco.”
“Those who do not know Juninho will one day have the opportunity to see the person he is. What I admire in people is when they take a word, a gesture … and I have seen that with Juninho, who is returning to Vasco because he wants to, because he likes the club.”
