News of the World says Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is ready to sell the Italian international in January to cut his losses.
Dossena joined the Reds from Udinese for £7million in the summer.
Roma and Juventus were both battling with Liverpool to sign Dossena at the end of last season.
Dossena have failed to impress in the Premier League.
