Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba faces a four-year suspension from football after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA.
The ban comes after Pogba was tested following Juventus’ victory over Udinese in August, despite not playing in the match.
Italian media outlets, including Repubblica and Sky Sport Italia, have reported that the anti-doping tribunal has ratified the FIGC Prosecutor’s suspension request.
The former Manchester United midfielder, who has not played since September, was found with elevated levels of DHEA during a test on August 20, 2023, and a subsequent test in October also returned positive.
The banned substance DHEA is known to enhance testosterone levels.
Since his provisional suspension in September 2023, Pogba has been sidelined from team activities and had his salary significantly reduced.
The World Cup winner, who rejoined Juventus from Manchester United in 2022, has the option to appeal the tribunal’s decision.
