Matri scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win over rivals Inter Milan on Sunday. The striker hailed his good partnership with Luca Toni after the game.
“I think that already in Cagliari, I noticed a good understanding with Luca,” Matri told the club’s official website. “Im happy with the performance and the goal.
“This is the first time that I have played for Juventus in one of those matches that I loved to watch on TV and to know that it finished 1-0 thanks to my goal, well, it gives me a lot of pleasure.
“I didn’t think to have started this well so quickly [for my new club], but I’ve always believed in myself. When you join a team that’s so important you have to work hard and I’m doing it to improve myself, and playing with so many champions makes it that much easier.”
