The Galaxy are keen to bring in Ballack as a replacement for David Beckham, who is expected to join Paris St Germain in January as a free agent.
LA Galaxy have also been linked with a move for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, but Ballack is the MLS side’s top target for January.
