The Blues have been banned by Fifa from signing any new players until January 2011.
Lampard said: “A lot of things have happened to me in my career with Chelsea and England and, whenever it’s backs to the wall for whatever reason, it brings a togetherness and can be used as a positive.”
Lampard also commented on the development of youth players around the world.
He added: “It’s a question that certainly shouldn’t just involve Chelsea. We all want to see good English kids coming through.
“I played in the West Ham first team at 17. But there was nowhere near the quality there is at Chelsea now.”
