Larsson told MUTV: “I knew from the beginning, when I signed the contract, that this could be the scenario and I can’t complain about that.
“I knew what I got myself into but those are the decisions you have to make in life and you have to stand by those. We had a chat, but he (Sir Alex) respects my opinion and he fully understands why I’m going home.
“I’ve loved and enjoyed every single moment I’ve had here playing with United, but at the same time I have a contract with my hometown which I signed a year ago – and I don’t think they’ll be very interested in letting me go at this point.”
