Aston Villa have confirmed that the Dane has undergone surgery on his knee.
A Villa statement read: “Martin Laursen has been ruled out for eight weeks after undergoing a knee operation.”
Laursen is likely to miss the clashes with Chelsea and Liverpool over the coming weeks.
