Ken Bates, the current Leeds Chairman, has threatened legal action if any of the other bids is chosen over his but that bid itself is the subject of a legal challenge by the Inland Revenue, Leeds’ main creditor, who are unhappy at the prospect of receiving only 8p in the pound of all money owed.
It’s expected that at least one of the other bidders will make a better offer than Bates although there have also been complaints that they have had to put together a package without knowing whether season ticket money, potentially a substantial asset, will be available or whether it has already gone.
