Lehmann joined Stuttgart from Arsenal last summer on a one-year contract.
“Jens and I have worked out a schedule when to talk about his contract,” Stuttgart’s general manager Horst Heldt told Bild.
“He will have to talk to his family first and then we are going to see whether we will have the chance to continue with him.
“We clearly want to, but I am definitely not going to rush him into making any decision.
“We would be very glad if he decides to continue. He is a very important player and we are happy to have him.”
