The 18-year-old will stay with his current club until the end of the German season.
The promising defender has signed a contract that will keep him at Leverkusen until June 2012.
“Our scouts are extremely convinced about his skills and after he trained over here, we are impressed as well,” Bayer’s club president Wolfgang Holzhauser told EXPRESS.
“He will remain playing in Brazil until the summer. We are always signing new talent for reasonable fees – this is what we call a calculated risk.
“After the end of the season, he will either be loaned out or put into our first-team squad, depending on his progress in the meantime.
“But this is a player that could go far.”
