The former Anfield hero replaced Roy Hodgson earlier this month, though he has so far failed to turn around the club’s fortunes following defeats to Man Utd and Blackpool and a draw with Everton.
Chairman Tom Warner said: “We’ve identified some targets and hope we will be successful. I expect progress, we’ve resources to improve, we’re not driven by spending, but our team needs to get younger.”
