Liverpool boss to sign two-year contract extension

Benitez is ready to snub a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid for a third time in order to stay at Anfield.

The Spaniard has held talks with American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett in recent weeks.

Benitez said: “My advisers were in contact with them and we are waiting for a new contract right now. Sooner rather than later we will have another communication.”

Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett is looking to sell the club before July because of their £350million debt and by signing Benitez to a new contract they will make the club more attractive to potential buyers.
